Notice for Patients Seeking Treatment
- Press for a queue number and proceed to the reception when your number is shown on the digital display.
- To provide the best quality service, branches could limit the number according to the actual situation. Patients will be served on a first-come-first served basis.
- If this is your first visit, please produce identity card or passport, or birth certificate (for those below 16), otherwise, we will not be able to register you.
- Please inform us of any changes to your personal information, such as nationality, address, contact number etc.
- Please follow the number displayed outside the consultation room for your turn after registration.
- To be fair to all patients, we do not accept appointments made through telephone (except special circumstances).
- For patients issued with queue numbers, please do not leave the waiting area, you may be seen last if you miss your queue number for three times. If you leave the waiting area 15 minutes before the closing time, will be considered giving up your turn.
- Please show your registration card/identity card when collecting medicines, this will allow the clinic assistant to verify your identity and to give out the correct medicine.
- For general prescription, we do not prescribe more than 8 days of medicine (except special circumstances); for cancer patients, we usually do not prescribe more than 30 days of medicine.
- For repeat visits, please show your SBFC registration card for easy retrieval of particulars and medical records. Otherwise we could only handle your request for consultation after other patients.
- Please keep safe of your registration card. Fee payable at $5 for card replacement.
- To avoid causing disturbance to the medical staff, please keep your volume low while talking.
- Our physicians and staff are not allowed to accept red packets, food or gifts.
- Patients should follow the above requirements, we reserve the right to decline your request for consultation for non-cooperation.

What are the consultation hours of Singapore Buddhist Free Clinic?
- Morning: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM (Last registration at 11:30 AM)
- Afternoon: 1:30 PM – 5:00 PM (Last registration at 4:30 PM)
- Closed on Sundays and Public Holidays

Does Singapore Buddhist Free Clinic provide specialist services, Gua Sha, Tui Na (massage), or cupping therapy?
No, these services are not provided.
What documents are required for the first consultation?
Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents: NRIC or Birth Certificate (for children)
Foreign employees working in Singapore: must present a valid Work Passes
Foreign visitors: Passport or travel documents
Can I make an appointment by phone?
- The clinic generally does not accept phone appointments, but phone enquiries about the queue status and estimated waiting time are possible.
- Patients are seen on a first-come, first-served basis (except in emergency situations).
Can I leave the clinic after taking a queue number?
- Please remain in the waiting area until your number is called.
- If there is no response after your number is called three times, you will be scheduled as the last patient.
- Patients who are not in the waiting area 15 minutes before clinic closing time will be considered to have forfeited their turn.
How long will I wait for consultation?
- The waiting time is generally between 30 and 60 minutes. If there is a high patient volume on a particular day, the waiting time may be longer.
- Branches may limit the number of patients per day to ensure quality care.
How do I update my personal information?
If there are any changes to your address, nationality, contact number, or other personal details, please inform the registration counter promptly to ensure that our records remain accurate.
How much medicine will I receive?
- General Consultation (Internal Medicine): The quantity of medication will be determined by the physician based on your condition and will generally not exceed an 8-day supply per visit (except in special circumstances).
- Adjuvant Cancer Treatment: The quantity of medication will be determined by the physician and will generally not exceed a 30-day supply.
Can I apply for a medical fee waiver if I have financial difficulties?
Yes. Patients with financial difficulties may approach the Branch Manager or Assistant Manager to enquire about medical fee waiver and complete the relevant application form. All applications are subject to review on a case-by-case basis.
Will there be an additional charge if I choose a physician?
Patients may choose the physician on duty for the day or have one assigned by the front desk staff. There is no additional charge for selecting a physician.
What is the purpose of the consultation card? What should I do if It is lost?
- The consultation card issued by the clinic is designed to help the front desk staff recognize that you have previously registered with the clinic, making the registration process faster for any visit.
- If the consultation card is lost, you may apply for a replacement at the clinic. Replacement fee: $5
What documents are required for a follow-up consultation?
- For follow-up visits, you do not need to show your identity card again. Simply present your clinic consultation card, and the front desk staff can quickly register you for your appointment.
- If you do not present your consultation card, your registration may be processed after other patients.
Can I give gifts or red packets to doctors?
- No. Staff are strictly prohibited from accepting gifts, food, or red packets.
What rules should I follow in the clinic?
- Keep your voice low to avoid disturbing staff and other patients.
- Follow all clinic guidelines; non-compliance may result in denial of service.
